all-black elegance.

dressed in all black accentuated with white handbag

i love how this woman whispered a dense sense of elegance as she walked past us. the feeling was extremely inviting. her stern expression. her neatly tied-back hair. that burgundy-colored lipstick. her clothing style echoed the same feeling too; top-to-toe black with jeweled flats, accentuated with the presence of a white hobo slung effortlessly on her shoulder....

i think i'd like to be her when i'm older ;)

stay tuned. more great styles coming up! :)

jeans to die for.

so i trailed paris van java mall with dev yesterday. it was holiday, and the mall was extremely crowded (which we both love, cause extreme crowds scream; "photoshoot hunting!" for us)

we found some people with really great and unique styles, and here's one of them:

acid washed jeans

the acid-washed jeans is so chic right now. for me, it's a must-have item :)

p.s. don't mind her shoes ;)

have a blessed day. i'm gonna post more great styles later. :)

my all-time favorite final fantasy character.

zidane tribal in final fantasy dissidia by vinda

people have always asked me why i can't stop adoring zidane tribal.

he's been my all-time favorite character for quite a long time now. but whyyyy? he's just adorable (no, not because of that monkey's tail). he's just adorable i can't quite explain why.

perhaps, that's why he's so memorable for me, compared to those hot-qualifieds cloud strife and squall leonhart *honestly i'm just not that into them*

anyway.., here's illustrator tetsuya nomura's version of zidane for the new final fantasy dissidia;

isn't he adorable, people? ;)

a fashionable truth ;)

end-of-term projects are always fun (eventhough tiring, yes.)

this end of term i was asked to create a full-scripted documentation on games architecture and design (like a full game script--imagine you're proposing your finely designed RPG to giants namco or squEnix), where you're asked to do all sort of write-ups on your designed game.

a proud RPG geek, i am. so i came up designing a Role-Playing Game (RPG) called tales of alberic (sort of a crossbreed between final fantasy ix and kingdom hearts), with some fashionable twists in the character design. (well..., duh, having wrongly chosen to major in gaming and animation technology instead of fashion design doesn't make things any easier.)

here are some of the character designs i've created for the game;

noah vineyard

main character, childish and overly bright, so clichéd but i like it ;) afterall, it's squEnix's favorite archetype for main characters.

wool vest, easy-breezy khaki, peasant top, and medieval era's farmers' shoes. easy staples for a village-boy type of character.

peter bain

one of chanel's SS2010 RTW collection that inspired me:

chanel SS2010 ready to wear collection

in conclusion, mr. bain is the man in the picture meets MJ's military chic (the military jacket is slung on his shoulders) meets joel osteen (not that i'm a fan. i just think he's sweet.)

alda loveless

all that inspires me:

cropped lace leggings

of course darling erin wasson is one of them:

erin wasson in black laced bra and frayed denim miniskirts

frayed denim skirts always whisper me one thing: ssssssexy (especially if they're extremely deconstructed, with those inside pockets pulled out); plus, black laced bra visible under a white oversized top had never looked so chic before.

then here comes mr. antagonist:

amos gregory

amos gregory character design

nuff said. the rocker-meets-equestrian-chic looks are one of those things that won't stop lurking in my brain nowadays. guys clad in leather and chained boots are sssseeexay, the trench is, by the way, inspired by scott schuman's shots for burberry art of the trench

the boots, however, are aldo (if you check inside teen vogue's november 2009 issue, you'd find a story where the boots are. exactly alike with my illustration).

summed up:

my artworks are my diary. you're secretly seeing every details about me; not that strictly personal, though. perhaps you'd be able to see some reflections of the people i've always interested in, or the guy i am currently crushing on inside my artworks.

have a blessed day everyone. :)

first time i heard the news, i was shocked.

shocked why such a beautiful and accomplished supermodel came up with the decision to end her life.

what hurts me most is that she is just 20.

rest in peace, daul kim.

sunday afternoon.

i love black leggings. they make my legs look slimmer.

a classic denim jacket as an usual statement staple, though.

in black latex leggings, laced suit, and denim jacket

dev said she loves the blouse i wore underneath the jacket, so i took the jacket off.

mango top

in dev's opinion; this is the reason why she's in love with the blouse.

mango collection top

p.s. this fall, Mango Collection is loaded with blouses combined with lace ensembles to complete that utterly feminine touch. i loooove them so much!

yesterday morning was fully loaded by photograph sessions for the Mango contest i attended. sooo...afternoon church was a real mood-booster.

met my crush there too. sweet as usual. cannot resist! xoxo.

alexander wang spring 2010 RTW.

"we want to create clothes that are simple and classic. our girls want investment pieces."

alexanderwang

don't you just love that notion above? what an understanding designer he is.

i love alex wang. not because of that cute face, seriously *but... who can deny that cuteness?*

he's a total genius. i mean it. look at his collections. simple and timeless. many designers have tried to design "simple" collections but only few manages to survive the crowd. alex wang is, however, one of them.

in this stage, i recalled a notion said in a great eBook by cartoonist/blogger Hugo MacLeod titled 'How to be Creative' that it is not enough for someone just to stand out in the crowd. the thing is to avoid crowd completely, that's exactly when one can be legally called as 'creative'.

ever wonder how alex wang managed to do such thing? what is, exactly, makes him that special compared to fellow great casual wear designers?

in my opinion, here are my version of reasons:

1. casual and classy at the same time

freja beha erichsen in alexander wang SS2010 ready to wear

karmen pedaru in alexander wang SS2010 ready to wear

alexander wang SS2010 ready to wear

the sporty style he embraced for spring 2010 looks hits high notes by mixing them with leather ensembles. look at what freja beha erichsen and karmen pedaru wore in pictures # 1 and 3. leather loose pants? seriously. that defines the sacred word 'supercalifragilisticexpialidocious'.

2. neutrals with style

according to what i've examined so far, alex wang loves using neutral colors in his collections. black. white. ochres. slight touches of pastels. neutral colors could just come out dull if they are not combined with uniquely-designed clothes.

wang's ability to design such wearable yet uniquely stylish clothes is one thing that matters in this case.

simple, right? the looks are so models-off-duty (MOD, in wang's word), but take a closer look, and you'll finally figure out that the clothes are not that simple. they are unique. look at the details of the dress worn by frankie rayder in picture # 3.

finally, my favorite piece:

edita vilkeviciute in alexander wang SS2010 ready to wear

i love how body-conscious the design is. plus, the girly factors got watered down by the presence of knee-high socks and tough booties. this is a very creative way to wear an utterly feminine dress.

something distinctive.

who can wait until tomorrow to write a testimony on such an inspiring blogger?

i have always loved her style. her poetic writing in her blog. her signature hued photograph editing works. everything about her blog is enchanting.

 alix of thecherryblossomgirl.com

my personal favorite, of course, the picture of her wearing her boyfriend's white shirt:

there's always something intriguing about girls wearing guys' outfit.

next time i'm gonna write about her friend, blogger Louise Ebel (aka. Pandora, another famed fashion blogger).

i added her as a friend on Facebook and she turns out to be really friendly.

have a blessed day everyone!

the feel-good hairstyle.

i love the hairstyle. it looks good and can be easily done by myself.

nothing feels better than requiring a lovely hairstyle with no hairstylist needed ;)

p.s. the picture was featured on the October 2009 issue of Teen Vogue too!

what do you think making her that gorgeoussss? oversized tops.

it's wonderful how a woman can pull off a girl-next-door look without looking as if she's too lazy to dress up.
