the outfit is a total jump of my usual comfort zone. i felt kinda strange wearing an utterly feminine floral dress like this. so, i added boots to toughen up the overall look a bit.

hi everyone, glad to announce that my friend nina of ballerina's closet obsession had announced her first giveaway:

a very gorgeous stament ring with turquoise center which silver frame was gorgeously crafted in vietnam, which, in my opinion, would make a perfect statement piece for most outfits, especially for those who are apparently a fan of neutral colors and black-white-gray looks.

see you in the next post and have a nice weekend everyone! ♥

mysteriously dark. secretive. troubled. three sentences that had never failed to describe her so perfectly. she's like a treasure chest locked by a two-pronged key; just when people thought that they had successfully got her undone, she'd prove them wrong.

her life were long scripts written in forms of framed fantasies. stories of her life weren't that superficial, just a bit overdosed on disappointments and disapprovals. talking about her and her life that she'd likely never tell for another hundred years, it's not the sadness you probably couldn't take, it's her madness that you could never afford.

i was also really glad by the encouraging comments about the short story i wrote in my last post by heather taylor and leah. that means a lot! i've always loved writing but never have enough guts to expand the talent until today. their supports had changed my mindset a bit. hey, on second thought, perhaps i should try too! ;)

the wind blew my hair softly as i tried to understand what kind of feeling i am in. for the first time in my life, the brilliant blue sky and the whispers of the tall grasses seemed as if they were trying to alienate me as i recalled all of the precious memories i once had with him when he was still here. the laughter. the wisdom. his voice. i couldn't help but wondering how cruel a distance could be.

just a very short story i wrote in my spare time :)
gonna take a break for some time now. i wish i could finally have my proper rest.

there is something really intriguing about this look. very smooth mix between two faraway cultures. the color of the tops are derived from the colors of traditional chinese fabrics, but the completion of the look is of european (specifically: french-chic) feel. my favorites are her scarf which had successfully added the "noble" feel of the overall look and the skirt, which is very elegant.
this look was posted by valerie of a butterfly by day in the fab blog's recent entry titled culture clash. make sure you visit the blog for more eye candies!
have a nice day, everyone!
by the way, how was your weekend? :)

even though you are no longer here
there is still something between us
even though life isn't fair
i'd never lose my trust
just another lesson to be learned
gotta move on and not lose faith
just another obstacle to take
live my life before it gets too late
i won't give up
i won't stay down
this is what life's worth living for
i still believe in love
i still believe in love by jenny hyun. my current favorite song ♥
there's something very beautiful about the lyrics describing the goodbye with someone beloved. sometimes i wish that goodbyes don't even exist for every precious meetings with my loved ones. there were times that i wish i could stop time. there were times that i wish i could stop tears from falling when the news regarding the farewell arrived.
happy sunday :)

i feel like mixing tough and tender elements in my wardrobe nowadays. when i wear utterly feminine lacey staples, i always balance them with tough elements such as leather jackets, chain necklaces, or androgynous boots. i just don't want to look too princessy. :)
watched sherlock holmes yesterday, must say the movie is a splendor. i was constantly attracted by the plot, the setting, and utmost, the wardrobe. i'm such a fan of elegant men in elegant clothing. robert downey jr. as holmes was damn hot; his nonchalance and indifference are his main attractions, quite contrary to jude law's role as the demure and reserved dr.john watson. amazing alliance, though.

well-sculpted face, attractive curly black locks, toned arms despite the petite figure, and a harp in hand; those are merely my initial imagery of david in my head.
the story of shepherd-turned-king david has always enchant me.
he was underestimated, youngest of the eight sons of jesse that his father even hardly noticed. despite the hard fact, though, in the end he was the one the prophet samuel anointed as king, and he was also the one who defeated the mighty goliath with no credible weaponry. not to mention that he was also described as "an excellent musician" according to the message translation. he excelled in playing harp, to be exact. scan through the chapters in psalm, you'd also get that he was also a great singer/ songwriter.

wearing oversized clothes just make me happy.
i may spare some tips on wearing them too:
just make sure they're proportionally correct; balance baggy tops with well-fitted bottoms and leg-lengthening staples (e.g. creme or tan-colored shoes, and the black opaque tights + black shoes/ booties combo). there's a massive difference between looking carefree and just-rolled-out-of-bed. ;)
